Sightline Optometry

Waterloo · Clinic + dispensary

Eye care, measured properly.

A 45-minute exam that checks more than your prescription. A frame wall picked by opticians, not a franchise planogram. And lens pricing explained honestly — including the coatings we think you can skip.

The clinic

Four kinds of appointment. One standard of looking.

Comprehensive eye exam

The full check: vision, prescription, eye health inside and out, retinal photos included. Not a 10-minute refraction.

$135 · 45 min

OHIP covers this yearly if you’re 19 or under, or 65 and over.

Contact lens exam + fitting

A comprehensive exam plus corneal measurements and a proper fitting — new wearers and re-fits both welcome.

$195 · 60 min

Includes trial lenses, a teach session if you’re new, and the follow-up visit.

Children’s eye exam

Kid-paced and pressure-free. We check far more than the school screening does — including how the eyes work as a team.

$0 with OHIP · 30 min

OHIP covers one exam per year to age 19 — bring their health card.

Dry-eye assessment

A proper workup of why your eyes burn, water, or blur — gland imaging, tear-film testing, and an honest plan that often starts at home.

$150 · 45 min

Includes meibography imaging and a written plan — treatment is never pre-sold.

Something urgent but not an emergency — a red eye, sudden irritation? We hold same-day room. True emergencies (sudden vision loss, flashes with new floaters) belong on the phone or in the ER.

The dispensary

Six frame lines, one honest lens menu.

From a $95 house acetate to hand-finished French small-batch — each line is here because our opticians would wear it, priced in plain bands with no surprise at the till.

The dry-eye clinic

Burning, watering, 4 p.m. blur — measured, then treated.

Gland imaging and tear-film testing first; a written plan second. Most patients start with home therapy that costs discipline, not money — in-clinic heat and IPL are for the gland patterns they demonstrably help, re-assessed before you buy more.

Treatment that isn’t working gets stopped, not extended.

Kids’ vision

The school screening isn’t an eye exam.

Screenings miss the focusing and eye-teaming problems that read as “doesn’t like books.” OHIP covers a full exam every year to age 19 — and if your child’s nearsightedness is climbing, our myopia program shows you the growth numbers before recommending anything.
