Prices and fees

What does the $89 diagnostic fee cover?

A technician's visit to your home, a full diagnosis of one appliance, and a written repair price. If you go ahead with the repair, the $89 is credited in full. If you don't, the $89 is all you pay.

Is there an extra charge for Saturdays or Zone 3?

No. The diagnostic fee is $89 on every day we work and everywhere we go. Zone 3 is booked on Tuesdays and Thursdays only so the drive makes sense.

Do you charge for the second visit if a part is ordered?

No. When a part has to be ordered, the return visit to fit it is included in the repair price we quoted.

How do your repair prices work?

After diagnosis we give one written price for the whole repair, parts and labour together. Our pricing page lists typical ranges for common repairs so you know roughly what to expect before we arrive.

Booking and visits

How fast can you come?

Most weekdays we have windows the same day or the next day. Refrigerators get priority because food is at stake. When we're full, we say so and give you the first real opening.

How long is an arrival window?

Two hours. Your technician texts when they're about 30 minutes away, so you don't have to wait by the door.

Do I need to be home?

An adult needs to be home for the diagnosis and to approve the price. For a return visit to fit a part, you can leave a key or code if you're comfortable.

Do you work nights or Sundays?

No. Our windows run 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. You can book online any time.

Repair or replace

How do you decide if something is worth fixing?

We use a simple rule. If the repair costs more than half the price of a comparable new appliance, and the appliance is past the middle of its normal life, we'll usually tell you to replace it. Our pricing page has a quick check you can run yourself.

Will you try to sell me a new appliance?

We can't. We don't sell appliances. When we say replace it, we lose the repair job, so you can trust we mean it.

What happens if you recommend replacing?

You pay the $89 diagnostic fee and that's it. We'll write down what failed and what to look for in a new one if you want it.

Parts and warranty

Do you use new parts?

Yes. We fit new parts, either from the original maker or quality equivalents. We'll tell you which, and you can ask for the original part if you prefer.

Is the repair guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a written warranty covering the parts we install and the labour to fit them. The terms are printed on your quote and invoice, so you know what's covered before you pay.

Can I supply my own part?

We'd rather not, because we can't warranty a part we didn't source. If you insist, we'll fit it and warranty our labour only.

Brands and appliances

Which brands do you repair?

Most major household brands, from Whirlpool and GE to Samsung, LG and Bosch. See our brands page for the full list and the few things we don't work on.

Are you an authorized service center?

No. We're an independent repair company, not affiliated with any manufacturer. If your appliance is still under the maker's warranty, call them first.

Do you repair microwaves?

Over-the-range microwaves, yes. Countertop microwaves usually cost less to replace than to repair, so we don't service them.
