Marketing budget planner
Start from your own revenue and margin, land on a monthly budget band, then drag it across the channels you actually use.
Just context. It doesn't change the math directly, but growing usually calls for spending nearer the top of a range.
Used only as a sanity check against your gross profit below, not to change the budget band itself.
Are you maintaining, or growing?
Range for a growth-focused budget
These are starting ranges you set, not a rule. Edit either end to match your own comfort level.
Starts at the midpoint. Slide to anywhere in your $5,000 to $10,000 band.
$7,500/mo
Split it across channels
Drag each channel's share. They don't need to add to 100%; we scale them proportionally either way.
How the math works
- Band: $50,000/mo revenue × 10% to 20% = $5,000 to $10,000.
- Gross profit check: $50,000 × 50% margin = $25,000/mo.
- Your chosen point in the band is split across channels by the share you set for each.
- Google Ads share $3,000/mo: our fee would be $600/mo, 10% of that budget, $600 minimum.
- SEO share $2,250/mo at $50 a page is about 45 pages.
Assumptions
- The percent-of-revenue ranges are starting points you set yourself, not a cited industry rule.
- Website & branding work is mostly billed one-time ($1,500 to $20,000+ packages), not monthly, so many businesses save that share for a project rather than spending it every month.
- Email marketing and the automated review system are flat monthly prices with SearchPod: $500 CAD / $375 USD and $100 CAD / $75 USD.
