Light, used precisely: tone, texture, redness, and hair.

Lasers are where honest clinics separate themselves from aggressive ones. Every laser result depends on your skin type, your pigment, and the season — so we begin with a skin assessment and, for most devices, a test patch. It costs us a visit and earns you a safe setting.

Timing matters. Most laser work is best done between fall and spring in Vancouver: treated skin must be protected from active sun exposure, and a tan (real or spray) changes how light behaves in the skin. If you arrive tanned, we will reschedule rather than treat unsafely — that's a promise, not a policy quirk.

Expect a series, not a single fix. Hair removal typically takes 6–8 sessions because hair grows in cycles; tone work usually takes 2–3. We'll tell you the realistic count for your case before you commit to any of them.

How it works

Step by step, nothing sprung on you

  1. Skin assessment

We type your skin, review medications (some make skin light-sensitive), map what you'd like treated, and set honest expectations for your pigment and hair colour.

  2. Test patch

For most devices and all deeper skin types: a small patch, then 48 hours of watching how your skin responds before we treat a full area.

  3. Treatment series

Sessions are spaced 4–8 weeks apart depending on the treatment. Eye protection always; cooling built into the device.

  4. Protect the result

Daily broad-spectrum SPF is non-negotiable after laser — sun exposure can re-pigment treated spots and undo the work.

Realistic expectations

  • Hair removal means long-term reduction, not guaranteed permanent zero — most people keep a little fine regrowth.
  • Sun spots typically darken for 5–10 days before they flake away; redness improves gradually across a series.
  • Resurfacing results build for months as collagen remodels — the day-30 mirror undersells the day-120 result.
  • No laser can 'shrink pores' permanently; texture smooths, pores look refined, biology stays biology.

Downtime: None to a week — depends on the treatment

  • Hair removal and vascular laser: redness for a few hours; back to work immediately.
  • IPL: spots darken to coffee-ground flecks for about a week — makeup can cover them from day one.
  • Fractional resurfacing: 4–7 days of redness, swelling, and sandpaper-texture peeling. Plan around events.
  • All laser: strict sun protection for 4 weeks either side of treatment.

What results actually look like on a calendar — first visible, peak, duration — is written out per treatment in the results gallery.
