Crack filling
Hot-pour rubberized sealant that stretches with the freeze-thaw, so water stays out of the base.

How we do it
In Edmonton, water in a crack freezes, expands and pushes the crack wider every winter. That is how small cracks become potholes.
We blow each crack clean with hot compressed air, fill it with hot rubberized sealant and band it flat. Cracks wider than about 25 mm, or with crumbling edges, need a patch instead, and we mark those for you.
Example prices
Example ranges for 2026. A typical driveway has 30 to 80 feet of cracks; we measure them, we don't guess.

Questions we get
More in the full FAQ.
Why not just use the filler from the hardware store?
Cold-pour bottle filler shrinks and pulls away within a winter. Hot-pour rubberized sealant stretches with the freeze-thaw and lasts several seasons.
When is the best time for crack filling?
Spring and fall. Cracks are wider when it's cool, so more sealant gets in. In July heat they close up.
Will the filled cracks show?
Yes, as black lines. If that bothers you, sealcoat over them later in the summer for an even look.
Fill them before winter.
