Bidding and procurement

How do we invite Meridian to bid?

Send the invitation, documents and any addenda to the bid room at bids@meridiancg.example, or use the request-a-bid form. Every invitation is logged the day it arrives and acknowledged in writing within two business days.

What size of project do you take on?

Most of our work falls between about $5M and $150M in contract value and 25,000 to 500,000 SF. Our bonding program covers $150M on a single project and $400M in aggregate. We also take smaller fit-out work for existing clients.

Do you bid public work?

Yes. We deliver hard-bid and CM-at-risk work for school districts, colleges and public health systems, with bid bonds, prevailing-wage certified payroll and board-ready reporting.

Can we get your prequalification package?

Yes. It comes with our first response: bonding letter, insurance certificates, an EMR letter from our carrier, three years of OSHA logs, client references and, under an NDA, audited financial statements.

Delivery methods and cost

Which delivery method should we choose?

Design-build when the schedule is the main driver. CM at risk when you want to keep your own architect and need cost certainty early. Design-bid-build when documents are complete and price competition matters most. Not sure? Choose “advise us” in the bid form and we will put a written recommendation in front of you.

What does preconstruction cost?

On design-build and CM-at-risk work, precon is part of the agreement, usually as a fixed fee set at contract. Standalone feasibility estimates are scoped as a fixed fee too. Either way, you get the number in writing before we start.

What is a GMP, and what happens to the savings?

A guaranteed maximum price is the most you will pay for the agreed scope; above it, the risk is ours. Buyout savings and unused contingency are tracked in an open ledger and returned at closeout under the split agreed in the contract.

How accurate are your estimates?

Across our last 20 projects, the average variance from milestone estimate to final cost was ±2.8%. We report every variance with the reason behind it, including the ones that went the wrong way.

Q-03 4 questions

On site

Can you work in an occupied building?

Most of our work is next to or inside a working facility: ICRA and ILSM plans on hospital campuses, summer phasing on schools, and vibration, dust and outage protocols in live manufacturing plants.

How do you handle change orders?

Every change goes in an open log, priced and sent to you for approval before the work proceeds, unless you direct it in writing. Our reports separate owner-initiated changes from contractor-initiated ones, so you can see exactly where cost came from.

What is your safety record?

In 2025 our EMR was 0.71 and our TRIR was 1.42 across 742,000 craft hours. Three years of figures, the leading indicators behind them and how to read them are on the safety page.

How do you choose subcontractors?

Safety first: EMR, TRIR and a written safety program come before price. Then capacity, references and scope coverage. Partners above our safety thresholds need a corrective plan before they are invited.

Working with us

Who will we work with day to day?

A project executive, project manager and superintendent, all named in our proposal. The people who present the plan are the people who build it.

Where do you work?

Across the Calder Valley region and neighbouring markets. For repeat industrial and healthcare clients we travel further when the project fits our self-perform crews.

How quickly will we hear back?

Same-day logging in the bid room, a written acknowledgment within two business days naming your preconstruction lead, and a clear date for the deliverable your delivery method calls for.

Comparing delivery methods? The capabilities page sets them side by side. Checking our record? The safety page has three years of figures.
