Larkfield

Since 2011

An independent family practice, owned by the people who care for you

Larkfield isn't part of a hospital system or a chain. Decisions about your care, our schedules and our prices are made by the clinicians who see you.

Why Larkfield exists

Dr. Naomi Okafor spent her first years as a doctor in a large group where patients saw whoever had an opening. She liked the medicine and disliked meeting the same family three times as a stranger.

In 2011 she opened Larkfield with one exam room and a simple idea: a family should be able to call one place, see clinicians who know them, and understand what a visit will cost before it happens.

Fifteen years and two clinics later, the idea hasn't changed. We've added people, video visits and Saturday mornings, and we still answer the phone with a person.

What we believe about primary care

  • Know the person, not just the chart

You have one primary clinician. They read your history before the visit and remember it at the next one.

  • Leave time for questions

First visits are 40 minutes. We'd rather run a few minutes behind than rush the question you came in with.

  • Say the cost out loud

Self-pay prices are posted, and we tell you before a visit changes what you'll pay. No surprise bills from us.

  • Stay close to home

Two neighbourhood clinics with free parking and video visits, so care fits around school runs and shift work.

What “independent” means for you

It's not a slogan. It changes a few practical things.

  • We refer you to the specialist who's right for you, not the one in our system.
  • Your clinician sets the visit length, not a corporate scheduling rule.
  • Prices are set here and posted on this website.
  • Your records come with you if you ever move on. No hoops.

Plus our medical assistants, front desk, records and billing team, who keep both clinics running.
