Annual physicals
A yearly check-in with your own clinician: the exam, the screenings you're due for, and real time for your questions.
- 30 to 40 minutes
- Both clinics
A physical is the visit where we step back and look at the whole picture. We check the basics, catch up on screenings and vaccines, and leave time for the questions you've been saving up. You leave with a short written plan, not a stack of pamphlets.
Book this visit for
- Your yearly adult physical
- Medicare Annual Wellness Visits
- School, camp and sports physicals (bring the form)
- Work physicals using your employer's form
- Getting back on track after a few years without a checkup
What happens at the visit
-
A short online check-in
Three days before, the portal asks about medicines, family history and what you'd like to cover. It takes about ten minutes.
-
Vitals and history
A medical assistant checks blood pressure, weight and anything else your age calls for, like a vision or hearing check.
-
Exam and conversation
Your clinician examines you, reviews what you're due for, and answers your questions without watching the clock.
-
A plan in writing
Your visit summary, lab orders and next steps land in the portal the same day. Lab results come with a note in plain words.
What to bring
- Photo ID and insurance card
- Your medicine list, or the bottles themselves
- Any school, sports or work forms
- Glasses or hearing aids if you use them
- Your questions, written down
Insurance and cost
Most plans cover one preventive visit a year with no copay when you see an in-network clinician. If we also treat a new or ongoing problem during the visit, your plan may bill that part as a regular office visit, which can mean a copay. We tell you before we switch from preventive to problem care, so you can choose to book it separately.
- Adult physical
- from $195
- Sports or school physical
- from $75
- Medicare Annual Wellness Visit
- usually $0 with Medicare Part B
Questions people ask
Do I need to fast before my physical?
Only if your clinician orders fasting blood work. We'll tell you when we confirm the visit. If you're not sure, drink water and take your usual medicines unless we've told you otherwise.
Can my child's sports form be done at the same time?
Yes. Book a family block and bring the form. We fill it in before you leave so you don't have to come back for a signature.
Is a Medicare Annual Wellness Visit the same as a physical?
Not quite. The wellness visit is a planning visit: health risks, a medicine review, memory and fall questions, and a screening schedule. It usually doesn't include a full hands-on exam. We explain the difference when you book.
