PIVOT Physical Therapy

About — one clinic, since 2019

Built by an athlete the system rushed back

Pivot is deliberately small: one lead physical therapist, one strength coach, one coordinator, one clinic in Bend. Small is the feature — it's how every athlete gets the same clinician from baseline to test-out.

Lead physical therapist & owner

Dr. Mara Voss PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Mara tore her right ACL in the second half of a college soccer season and did her rehab the way most athletes do: discharged at four months, 'cleared' at six, re-injured at eight. The second rehab — slower, tested, coached by a sports-specialist PT — is the one that worked, and it's the model this clinic is built on.

She went on to a doctorate in physical therapy, board certification as a sports clinical specialist (SCS), and a strength & conditioning credential (CSCS), then spent five years in a high-volume ortho clinic watching athletes get discharged at 'pain-free' instead of 'ready'. Pivot opened in 2019 to do the opposite: one athlete at a time, tested at every phase, finished properly.

She still plays midfield in Bend's over-30 league, skis badly on purpose, and will absolutely ask to see your training log.

Credentials, decoded

  • DPT — doctor of physical therapy
  • SCS — board-certified sports clinical specialist
  • CSCS — certified strength & conditioning specialist

Small team, zero handoffs

Strength & reconditioning coach

Jordan Leal CSCS

Jordan runs the clinic gym and the Return to Strength blocks. Former junior-college baseball player, ten years coaching barbell sports, and the person who makes sure 'clinical exercise' turns back into actual training. Works from Mara's plan, reports back in numbers.

Clinic coordinator

Priya Nair

Priya is the voice on the phone and the reason scheduling, superbills, and surgeon paperwork happen without you chasing them. Ask her anything about pricing, reimbursement, or fitting rehab around a shift schedule — she has seen every version of it.

Half clinic, half gym

Two treatment rooms in the front, a strength floor in the back — racks, plates, boxes, a treadmill with a camera on it. Rehab that ends at the treatment table isn't finished; ours walks the whole hallway.

What we won't compromise

Four rules the clinic runs on

01

One athlete at a time

No double-booking, no aides, no 'do three sets while I check on someone'. The schedule is built so the hour is actually yours.

02

Numbers over vibes

Both limbs, tested every 4–6 weeks, charted. Progress you can see beats progress you're told about.

03

Honest timelines

Bone heals on bone's schedule and ACLs don't care about season openers. We'd rather lose a sale than rush a return.

04

Discharge with a program

The goal is to not need us — every athlete leaves with a maintenance program and their numbers, not a punch card.

Come meet the table.

Evaluations run Monday through Saturday. If you want to size us up first, the 15-minute call is free and Mara answers it herself.
