Contents cleaning and pack-out
Your belongings get packed, listed, cleaned and stored safely while your home is repaired, then brought back and set up again.
How we handle it
When a home needs serious work, the things inside need somewhere to go. Our contents team packs every room with labelled boxes and a photo inventory, takes items to our secure facility in Dartmouth, and cleans what can be saved: clothing, furniture, dishes, books and electronics. You get a written list of every box and every item that could not be saved. On move-back day we bring it all home and help you set up.
Call us when
- Your home needs repairs and your belongings must move out first
- Clothing, furniture or keepsakes were affected by smoke, soot or water
- Your insurer has asked for an itemized list of damaged contents
- Documents or photos got wet and you want them saved
- You need secure storage while your home is rebuilt
Before we arrive: safe first steps
- Take photos and video of each room, including inside closets and drawers.
- Set aside medication, ID, passports, chargers and anything you need daily.
- Put wet photos and documents in a freezer bag in the freezer. It pauses the damage.
- Do not wash smoky clothing in your own machine yet. Some soot sets with heat.
- Make a note of items with special value, even if the value is sentimental.

Everything returns, placed where you want it, with the inventory checked off.
Contents safety, in plain words
- Food, cosmetics and medicine exposed to heat, smoke or dirty water should be thrown away.
- Electronics that got wet should stay unplugged until they are checked.
- Never throw out items before they are photographed and listed. Your insurer may ask about them.
Insurance basics
Contents coverage is a separate part of most home policies, with its own limits. Your insurer decides what is covered and how items are valued. Our room-by-room inventory and photos help you give them what they usually ask for.
General information only. We are not your insurer or your adjuster, and we cannot tell you what your policy covers.

Common questions
Can I get something from storage while my home is repaired?
Yes. Tell us the box or item and we will have it ready for pick-up or bring it to you.
What happens to items that cannot be saved?
They are photographed and listed before anything is thrown out. You decide, and you keep a copy of the list.
Can you save wet photos and papers?
Often, yes, especially if they are frozen quickly. We work with document drying specialists for important papers.
