About Lakelight

Started by an installer. Still run like one.

Theo Marchetti installed windows for nine years before he started Lakelight. He was tired of cleaning up after jobs that were sold well and installed badly. So he made one rule: the person who measures your windows knows how to put them in.

Our story

Rochester's old houses taught us to measure twice.

Half the homes we work on were built before 1960. Openings are out of square, sills hide rot, and the trim was cut by hand. A window ordered from a quick measurement and a sales sheet doesn't fit those houses. It gets forced in and foamed over.

So we measure every opening three ways, look under the old caulk before we quote, and hire installers as employees. That costs a little more. It also means we know who did every install, and we stand behind each one for ten years.

Fifteen years

From one van to four crews.

  1. 2011 One van Theo starts Lakelight in Irondequoit with a two-person crew and a rule: measure it yourself.
  2. 2015 The showroom A small showroom on Mill Race Way opens, with the first cold box.
  3. 2019 Crews on payroll Second and third crews hired. Every installer is an employee; no subcontractors.
  4. 2023 Doors in-house Fiberglass and wood-clad lines added, and entry and patio doors installed by our own crews.
  5. 2026 A service tech A fourth crew, and a full-time service tech just for warranty calls.

How we work

Four promises we can actually keep.

The team

The people you'll actually meet.

Free, in writing, no pressure

Meet Theo at your kitchen table.

Most in-home measures are still done by the founder. About an hour, every opening measured three ways, and a written price you can take your time with.
