Questions

Straight answers, before you ask.

The questions we hear at almost every kitchen table. If yours isn't here, call or text and a real person will answer.

Cost and quotes

How much do replacement windows cost?

Most of our windows run $650 to $2,400 each, installed, depending on style, size and frame material. A typical whole-house job of 12 to 15 windows lands between about $8,000 and $25,000. The price guide shows every range.

Is the in-home quote really free?

Yes. An installer measures every opening, checks the sills for rot, shows you samples and answers questions. It takes about an hour. You get a written quote the same day or within two business days.

Why is your quote good for 60 days?

Because a five-figure decision deserves time. Our prices don't change because you waited a week. If you hear "this price is only good tonight" from anyone, that is a sales tactic, not a price.

Do you price-match?

We don't play price-match games, but we're happy to go through another quote with you line by line. Glass package, install type and trim are where quotes usually differ.

Energy and comfort

How much will I save on heating?

Some, but we won't promise a number. Going from single pane to our double pane makes a real difference in comfort and usually a modest one on the bill. Going from 20-year-old double pane is mostly about comfort, noise and condensation.

What is U-factor, in plain words?

How fast heat leaks through the whole window. Lower is better. Our standard windows are around 0.27; a single-pane window is around 1.0.

Is triple pane worth it in Rochester?

Sometimes. It makes the most sense on north-facing rooms, bedrooms and big picture windows. For most other rooms, good double pane with Low-E and argon is the better value.

Are there rebates or tax credits?

Programs come and go, from utilities, the state and the federal government. We print the product ratings on your invoice and help you check what applies at the time you buy. We never build a rebate into your price.

Installation

How long does installation take?

A crew installs 8 to 10 windows a day with insert installs. Most homes are done in one or two days. Doors are usually one day each.

Insert or full-frame: which do I need?

If your frames are solid and square, an insert install keeps your trim and is included in the price. If there is rot or leaking, full-frame is the right fix. We show you what we find and price both.

My house was built before 1978. Is that a problem?

No, but it means lead-safe work practices: plastic sheeting, special clean-up and careful handling of old paint. Federal rules require it, and we follow them on every older home.

Do you work in winter?

Yes, all year. We work one opening at a time, so each room is open for 30 to 45 minutes.

Products and warranty

Vinyl, fiberglass or wood-clad?

Vinyl is the best value and needs no upkeep. Fiberglass is stronger, slimmer and handles dark colors and big sizes better. Wood-clad gives you real wood inside for older or higher-end homes.

Do you offer financing?

Yes, through a third-party lender, subject to credit approval. Fixed monthly payments or a 12-month deferred-interest plan. The financing page explains both honestly.

What is the warranty?

A 10-year labor warranty from us, in writing, on every install. Each product line also has its own manufacturer warranty, and the exact terms are printed on your quote.

Who makes your windows?

North American manufacturers we have worked with for years. The brand and its warranty terms are on your quote, so you can look them up before you sign.
