The people at the counter
What regulars sayTheo
Barista, Cook Street
6:30 · Tastes the first shot of the day
The first shot of the day is mine to taste. If it isn't right, nobody gets one until it is.
Mara
Regular, Fernwood
7:10 · Oat cortado
I've ordered the same cortado for six years. Some mornings they start it when I'm still at the crosswalk.
June
Regular, James Bay
9:40 · London fog
On Sundays I bring a notebook and nobody rushes me. No Wi-Fi, a window seat, a pot of tea. That's my whole review.
Ana
Shift lead, Fernwood
2:45 · Drip, black
By the afternoon we know who's coming. There's always one almond croissant set aside for Mr. Price.
Why Daybook?
01 / 04
We roast our own coffee twice a week in a small room behind the Fernwood counter, so the beans in your cup are days old, not months.
About our beans
02 / 04
Order from your phone, walk in, and find your drink on the shelf with your name on it. Same espresso, same steamed milk, no line.
How pickup works
03 / 04
Big tables, outlets along the wall and Wi-Fi at Fernwood and Cook Street. James Bay is the quiet one: no Wi-Fi, more conversation.
Find a seat
04 / 04
Croissants are laminated the day before and baked at 4:30 every morning. When they're gone, they're gone.
