On the bar

New this week: a washed coffee from Huila, Colombia. Red apple and panela.

Pour-over & drip

A drip coffee that's never older than 30 minutes, and a pour-over bar for the days you want to slow down.

Drip is our fastest cup. We brew small batches all morning and pour out anything older than 30 minutes. If you stay in, refills are $1.50.

The pour-over bar is where our single origins live. Pick one from the board and we brew it by hand on a V60 or Kalita Wave. It takes about four minutes, so it's best when you're not racing a bus.

Not sure what you like? Tell us how you take your coffee at home and we'll point you to one. There's no wrong answer and no quiz.

Drip from $3.50, pour-over from $6.00

How we make it

  1. 01 Weighed, not guessed

Coffee and water are weighed for every cup, about one gram of coffee to sixteen of water.

  2. 02 Water just off the boil

Between 93 and 96 degrees for most coffees. Lighter roasts get the hotter end.

  3. 03 Poured in stages

A short bloom, then slow pours. About three and a half to four minutes from start to cup.

All questions
How long does a pour-over take?

About four minutes once we start. On a busy morning, add a few minutes for the line. Order ahead and it will be ready when you arrive.

Can I order a pour-over ahead?

Yes. We start brewing about five minutes before your pickup time so it's hot, not stewed, when you walk in.

What is a coffee flight?

Three small pour-overs of different coffees served side by side, 4 oz each, for $12. It's the easiest way to find out what you like. Fernwood and Cook Street only.
