What hot yoga is like here
Our heated classes happen in the Ember Room. Radiant panels warm your body, and a fresh-air system keeps the air moving. Hot Flow and Hot Hatha run at 33 to 37°C. Warm Flow runs at 27 to 29°C, and is the best place to start if heat is new to you.
A good fit if
- You love to sweat and like the deep, loose feeling warm muscles give
- You want a set routine you can repeat and track (Hot Hatha)
- You are curious about heat: Warm Flow is a gentle way to try it
Think twice, or talk to us first, if
- You are pregnant: please choose Prenatal or unheated classes instead
- You have a heart condition, very high or low blood pressure, or take medicine that affects heat: ask your doctor first
- You have had heat illness before, or feel unwell that day: skip the heat and take a Skylight class
What happens in class
-
1
Drink before you come
Have water through the day and a light snack about 2 hours before. A big meal and heat do not mix.
-
2
Set up near the door
On your first visit, take a mat near the door. Cooler air, and an easy exit if you need a break.
-
3
Move with the heat
Hot Flow is a vinyasa class. Hot Hatha is the same set series of poses every time, so you can see your progress.
-
4
Rest whenever you like
Lie down or sit in child's pose at any point. Our teachers will never push you to stay in a pose.
-
5
Cool down slowly
Savasana, then sit up slowly. Stay a few minutes after class before you head out into the cold.
Plain notes: props, heat, injuries
-
Props
Bring a large towel for your mat and a full water bottle. Both are free to rent on your intro. Blocks are wiped down after every class.
-
Heat
Hot classes run at 33 to 37°C with modest humidity. Warm classes run at 27 to 29°C. The door is never locked and you can leave the room at any time.
-
Injuries and health
Warm muscles stretch further than usual. That feels great, but go to about 70% of your stretch, especially in your hamstrings and low back.

Questions about hot yoga
I have never done hot yoga. Where should I start?
Start with Warm Flow at 27 to 29°C. After two or three warm classes, try Hot Flow, and set up near the door for your first one.
What if I feel dizzy or sick?
Stop, lie down or sit, and breathe. If it does not pass, leave the room; the hallway is cool and the desk has cold water. Our teachers check in on anyone who steps out.
What is Hot Hatha, exactly?
A set series of standing and floor poses in a hot room, the same every class, so you can see your progress over time. Ours runs a little cooler than many set-series classes, uses props, and teachers offer options for every pose.
