What teacher training is like here
Our 200-hour training runs from January to May, on Friday evenings and two weekends a month, so it fits around a full-time job. Maren leads it with three of our teachers. About half of each group goes on to teach. The other half come to deepen their own practice, and both are welcome.
A good fit if
- You have practised for about a year and want to go deeper
- You want to teach, and to learn from teachers who teach every day
- You need a schedule that fits around work
Think twice, or talk to us first, if
- You need to teach within a month or two: 200 hours is a start, not a finish line
- You cannot attend at least 90% of sessions: make-ups are limited
What you will learn
-
1
Practice and technique
Breaking down the main poses, props, and how to change a pose for different bodies.
-
2
Anatomy you can use
Bones, joints and breath, taught for the teaching room, not an exam.
-
3
Teaching skills
Clear cues, safe sequences, reading a room, and language that welcomes everyone.
-
4
History and ideas
Where yoga comes from, taught with respect and from more than one point of view.
-
5
Practicum
You teach real community classes, with feedback, before you graduate.
Plain notes: props, heat, injuries
-
Props
Tuition includes a training manual and unlimited classes from January to May. Bring your own mat and a notebook.
-
Heat
Training is in the Skylight Room. One module covers how to teach heated classes safely.
-
Injuries and health
Have an injury or a condition? Tell us when you apply. We have trained teachers with all kinds of bodies, and we plan for it.

Questions about teacher training
Will I be qualified to teach after?
You will have a 200-hour certificate, which most studios ask for. It does not guarantee a job here, but we do hire from our trainings when we have openings.
Is there a payment plan?
Yes. A deposit holds your spot, and the rest can be split into five monthly payments. The lower price is for full payment by November 1.
