What prenatal is like here

Prenatal classes are gentle, steady and practical. We use the wall, bolsters and chairs so every pose works with a changing body. Class ends with rest on your side and time for questions. Partners are welcome at the last Saturday class each month.

A good fit if

  • Staying active in a way that respects pregnancy
  • Meeting other expecting parents in the neighbourhood
  • Learning breathing you can use any time

Think twice, or talk to us first, if

  • Your care provider has asked you to limit activity: please check with them first
  • Heated classes: we ask pregnant students to skip all heated rooms

What happens in class

  1. 1

    Check-in circle

Name, weeks, and anything your body is asking for today. Short, friendly and optional.

  2. 2

    Breath

Simple breathing you can use anywhere. No breath holding in this class.

  3. 3

    Gentle strength

Standing poses with the wall, hip and back work, and a lot of options.

  4. 4

    Side-lying rest

Rest on your side, propped up, with blankets. No lying flat on your back later in pregnancy.

Can I keep doing my usual classes?

Often yes, in unheated rooms, with changes. Tell your teacher you are pregnant. Most students switch fully to Prenatal later on.
