FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Still wondering about something? Call (727) 555-0148 during clinic hours and a real person will answer.

01

Your first visit

What happens at the first visit?

We talk about your pain and your health history, do a hands-on exam that includes nerve and strength tests, and explain what we found. If chiropractic care fits and you agree, you get your first treatment the same day. It takes about 45 minutes.

Do I need a referral?

No. In Florida you can see a chiropractor directly. Some HMO insurance plans want a referral before they'll pay, and we'll tell you if yours does when we check your benefits.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in, like leggings or athletic shorts and a T-shirt. You stay dressed for the whole visit.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. A partner, friend, or parent is welcome in the room. Kids are welcome too, and we keep a basket of books by the door.

02

Safety and care

Is chiropractic safe?

For most people, chiropractic care is low risk. Mild soreness for a day is common. Serious problems are rare. We screen everyone for warning signs before treatment and explain the risks of anything we suggest.

What is the popping sound?

It's gas releasing from the fluid inside a joint, like cracking your knuckles. It doesn't mean a bone moved back into place, and a treatment can help without any sound at all.

Will I have to keep coming forever?

No. Your plan has a visit count and an end point. Some people like an occasional check-in visit later on. That's your choice, never a condition of care.

What if chiropractic isn't right for me?

Then we tell you at the first visit and point you to the right kind of care, like your doctor, a physical therapist, or a specialist. You only pay for that first visit.

03

Cost and insurance

Do you take my insurance?

We file claims with most major health plans and with every auto insurer for PIP. Coverage for chiropractic varies a lot by plan, so we check yours before your first visit and tell you what you'll owe.

Is the $79 special really $79?

Yes, for self-pay new patients. It covers the 45-minute visit, the exam, your plan, and your first treatment. X-rays are extra and only if your exam shows you need them. The special isn't available for Medicare, Medicaid, or other government plans, by law.

Can I use my HSA or FSA card?

Yes. Chiropractic care is an eligible medical expense, so HSA and FSA cards work for visits, decompression, and packs.

Do you take Medicare?

Yes. Medicare Part B covers chiropractic adjustments of the spine when they're medically needed. It doesn't cover the exam or X-rays a chiropractor orders, so we explain those costs before we start.

04

Car accidents

How soon should I come in after a crash?

As soon as you can, and within 14 days. Florida's PIP rules ask for first care within 14 days of the crash, and some injuries take a day or two to show up.

Do I need a lawyer?

No. You can be seen and use your PIP benefits without one. If you have an attorney, we'll send records with your written OK.

05

Pregnancy

Is chiropractic safe during pregnancy?

Gentle chiropractic care is commonly used during pregnancy. We adapt every technique, avoid pressure on your belly, and check with your OB or midwife if anything in your history needs a second look.

Can you turn a breech baby?

No. We don't claim to turn babies. We can help ease pelvic and back pain, and your OB or midwife manages the baby's position.

When can I come back after birth?

Most people start gentle care a few weeks after birth, once their OB or midwife says they're ready. Babies are welcome in the room.
