Condition we treat

Low back pain

Most low back pain is not dangerous, and most of it gets better. Our job is to find what's driving yours, ease it with hands-on care, and teach you what keeps it calm between visits.

Sound familiar?

What people tell us at the first visit

  • Pain across your low back, or on one side
  • Stiffness that's worse in the morning or after sitting
  • A sharp catch when you bend, lift, or twist
  • Pain that comes back every few months
  • Trouble sleeping because you can't get comfortable

What care involves

Four steps, explained as we go

  1. Step 01

    Find the source

We ask how it started, watch how you move, and check your nerves, reflexes, and strength. Most people don't need X-rays. If you do, we'll tell you why.

  2. Step 02

    Ease it with hands-on care

Gentle spinal adjustments, joint mobilization, and soft-tissue work. You choose what you're comfortable with, and low-force options are always available.

  3. Step 03

    Build it back up

Two or three simple exercises you can do at home in ten minutes, plus small changes to how you sit, lift, and sleep.

  4. Step 04

    Check your progress

We re-test at set points. If you're not clearly better by visit six, we change the plan or refer you.

What to expect

How long it usually takes

4 to 8 visits

1 to 2 visits a week for 2 to 4 weeks

Some people feel better after one or two visits. Pain you've had for years usually takes longer. We give you a number at the first visit and stick to it unless we tell you why.

Who you'll see

Dr. Daniel Reyes

15 years in practice

Daniel opened Cairn in 2016 after years in busy clinics where visits lasted five minutes. He wanted a place where every new patient gets a real exam and a straight answer, including "chiropractic isn't the right fit for this." He still sees patients four days a week.

Signs you need a doctor first

We screen for these at every first visit. If one shows up, we stop and help you get the right care, and you only pay for that first visit.

  • Loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness in the groin: go to the ER now
  • Back pain with a fever, or weight loss you can't explain
  • A history of cancer and new back pain
  • Pain after a serious fall or crash
  • Weakness in one leg that is getting worse

Cost

Prices, up front

  • New patient visit $79 45 minutes: history, exam, plan, and first treatment if it's right for you.
  • Follow-up visit $60 About 20 minutes: re-check, adjustment, and soft-tissue work.
  • Extended visit $85 About 35 minutes. Adds hands-on rehab coaching.

Questions

About back pain care

More questions
Do I need an X-ray first?

Usually not. Guidelines advise against routine imaging for new low back pain. We order X-rays, or refer you for an MRI, only when your exam points to a reason, like a recent fall, a fever, or nerve changes.

Will the adjustment hurt?

Most people feel pressure and sometimes a pop, then relief or mild soreness for a day. If you'd rather skip quick movements, we use slower mobilization or a hand-held instrument instead.

How will I know it's working?

We measure how far you can bend, how long you can sit, and how you're sleeping, then compare at each check-in. You see the numbers too.

Ready to talk about your pain?

Your first visit is 45 minutes and $79 for self-pay new patients. You'll leave with a plan you understand, or a referral if we're not the right fit.
