Treatment:IUI
IUI (intrauterine insemination)
A gentle first treatment. Timed carefully, with partner or donor sperm.
- Per cycle, before medicine
- $600 to $1,200
- First visit
- In person or video
Overview
Overview
In IUI, prepared sperm is placed directly in the uterus close to ovulation. It gives sperm a shorter trip and puts it in the right place at the right time. The procedure itself takes about five minutes and feels much like a routine exam.
IUI is often the first treatment for unexplained infertility, mild sperm issues, single parents by choice, and couples using donor sperm. Some cycles use a mild ovulation pill. Others follow your natural cycle with careful monitoring.
Who it is for

Around day 10 to 12
Monitoring ultrasound
A quick ultrasound checks how your follicle is growing. Early mornings and Saturdays are available.
-
When ready
Trigger shot (if needed)
A single shot times ovulation so the IUI happens at the best moment.

About 36 hours later
The IUI
Sperm is washed and prepared in our lab, then placed in the uterus. About five minutes, then rest as long as you like.

People often ask us
How many IUI cycles should we try?
Many doctors suggest about three before reviewing the plan, but it depends on age and diagnosis. Your doctor will give you a specific suggestion at your results visit.
Can I do IUI with donor sperm as a single parent?
Yes. Many of our IUI patients are single parents by choice or same-sex couples. We help you choose a sperm bank and arrange shipping to our lab.
Is IUI painful?
Most people feel mild cramping at most. There is no anesthesia and no recovery time.
