About this care
Menopause care at Hollin
Perimenopause can start in your early 40s and last for years. Symptoms are real, they vary a lot from person to person, and you do not have to just get through them.
Dr. Marsh leads our menopause care. Your first visit is 40 minutes, so there is time to go through what you feel, your health history and every option, from hormone therapy to non-hormone medicines to changes you can make at home. You decide what to try.
This visit is for you if
- Your periods are changing, or have stopped
- Hot flashes or night sweats are wrecking your sleep
- You have mood changes, brain fog or vaginal dryness
- You want an honest talk about the risks and benefits of hormone therapy
What is included
- A 40-minute first visit, in person or by video
- A symptom diary to bring, so we can see the pattern
- Hormone and non-hormone options, laid out side by side
- Bone density and heart health screening when you are due
- Follow-up visits to adjust the plan as things change
How we work together
-
Before
Track for two weeks
We send a short symptom diary. Two weeks of notes tells us more than any single visit can.
-
First visit
Your whole picture
We go through your symptoms, history and goals, and check what tests, if any, you need.
-
Plan
Options, side by side
We lay out what each option may help with, the risks, and the cost. You choose. There is no rush.
-
Follow-up
Adjust and check in
A check-in after about three months, then as often as you need. Plans change as your body does.
Costs
What it costs
| Self-pay | Price range |
|---|---|
| First menopause visit 40 minutes, self-pay | $210 to $320 |
| Follow-up visit In person or video | $130 to $200 |
Lab and imaging fees are billed by those providers. We tell you what we plan to order before we order it.
With insurance
Menopause visits are billed as specialist visits. Most plans cover them with your usual copay. Medicare is accepted for gynecology visits.
Your care team
Who you'll see
Is hormone therapy safe?
For many healthy people under 60, or within ten years of their last period, the benefits can outweigh the risks. For others, it is not the right choice. We go through your own health history before recommending anything.
I'm bleeding after menopause. Is that normal?
Any bleeding a year or more after your last period should be checked. It is often something minor, but please book a problem visit rather than waiting for your annual exam.
Can I do menopause visits by video?
Yes, follow-ups especially. Your first visit can be by video too, though we may ask you to come in for an exam or tests afterwards.
