How insurance works here

  1. Step 1: You share your plan

On the intake request, choose Insurance and type your plan name. A photo of your card can come later.

  2. Step 2: We call your plan

Maya checks whether we are in network, your specialist copay or coinsurance, your deductible, and any referral rules.

  3. Step 3: You hear the number

Before your first visit, we tell you what you are likely to owe. If it is not what you expected, you can change your mind with no fee.

  • In network with several plans

We are in network with several large commercial health plans and with Medicare. Networks change, so we check your exact plan before your first visit and tell you what you are likely to owe.

  • Out of network? We give you a superbill

If we are not in your network, you pay the self-pay fee and we give you a superbill each month. Many PPO plans pay back part of the cost.

  • HSA and FSA cards welcome

Psychiatric visits are usually eligible expenses. Keep your receipts from the patient portal.

  • Good Faith Estimate

If you pay for yourself, you have the right to a written Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before your visit. We send one with every self-pay booking.

Policies, in plain words

  • Cancelling or moving a visit

Please give us one business day's notice. Late cancellations and missed visits are charged $75 for follow-ups and $150 for evaluations. We waive the fee once a year, no questions asked.

  • Payment

Self-pay fees and copays are due at the visit. We keep a card on file through our secure portal.

  • Forms and letters

Short letters for work or school are free for current patients. Longer forms such as FMLA paperwork are $40 and take up to ten business days.

Your right to a Good Faith Estimate

If you do not have insurance or choose not to use it, you have the right to receive a written estimate of expected charges before your visit. If your bill is much higher than the estimate, you can ask us about it and you may be able to dispute it. Ask us any time, or call (804) 555-0142.
