About Alana

Before she was a lawyer, Alana Whitfield spent nine years as an ICU nurse at a Manhattan teaching hospital. She has run codes, charted through twelve-hour nights, and seen — up close — the difference between a tragic outcome and a preventable one. When a preventable one changed the life of a patient she had cared for, she enrolled at NYU Law to learn how to do something about it.

Alana leads the firm's medical-malpractice practice. Because she reads charts fluently, she screens cases other firms can't evaluate without paying an expert first — which means clients get an honest answer about their case in days, not months. When a case is strong, she builds it the way she charted: precisely, chronologically, and with nothing left out.

Malpractice cases carry New York's shortest meaningful deadline — generally two and a half years — so Alana's rule for potential clients is simple: call early, even if you're only wondering.
