About Daniel

Daniel Sterling started his career on the other side. For eight years he defended insurance companies against injury claims — sitting in the rooms where reserve numbers are set, watching adjusters grade claimants by how tired, confused, or unrepresented they seemed. In 2003 he resigned, rented a two-room office above a Herald Square deli, and founded the firm on a single promise: the people those companies graded would never again walk into that room alone.

Two decades later, Sterling Justice Law has recovered more than $480 million for injured New Yorkers, and Daniel still tries cases personally. He is known for preparing every file as if it will see a jury — because insurers track which firms fold before trial, and they pay accordingly.

Away from the office, Daniel coaches a Queens youth debate league and remains an unrepentant Mets fan.
