8.0FAQ

Straight answers. Before you start a trial or book a demo.

If your question is not here, ask us. Support answers weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern, and a real person picks up the phone.

Getting started

How long is the free trial, and do I need a card?

Fourteen days, and no card. If you choose a plan, everything you set up stays. If you don't, the trial account and its data are deleted 30 days after it ends.

Do I need to talk to sales?

Not to start. Most landlords sign up, import a spreadsheet and collect rent without talking to anyone. If you manage for owners or run more than about 250 units, a 30-minute demo with your own data is worth it.

How do I move my tenants and leases over?

On Starter, fill our spreadsheet templates and upload them; chat support checks them with you. On Growth and Portfolio, our onboarding team imports your rent roll, leases and ledger history for you.

How long does switching take?

A small landlord can be live in a weekend. A management company usually takes two to four weeks, with go-live on the 1st of a month so rent starts clean.

Pricing and fees

What counts as a unit?

Any door you collect rent on: an apartment, a house, a townhome, a garage you rent out. Vacant units count. Units in a property you have archived do not.

Is there a contract or a setup fee?

No setup fee on any plan. Plans are month to month and you can cancel any time. Paying yearly takes 10% off.

Why is there a monthly minimum?

Payments, bank feeds and support cost us the same whether you have 4 units or 40. The minimum keeps the per-unit price low for everyone. Starter's $45 minimum covers up to 36 units.

Who pays the payment fees?

For bank transfers, you decide who pays. Card fees are paid by the tenant and shown before they confirm. All fees are listed on the pricing page.

Payments and screening

When does rent reach my bank account?

In this demo: bank transfers settle in 3 to 5 business days and card payments in 2. The exact timing is set in your payments agreement.

Can tenants pay in cash?

Not through Lintel. You can record cash and money orders yourself, and they post to the ledger like any other payment.

Who decides whether an applicant is approved?

You do. Lintel lines each applicant up against the criteria you wrote and shows the reports, but the decision and the letter are yours.

Data and security

How do you protect our data?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, sign-in supports two-step verification, roles limit who sees what, every change is in the audit log, and backups run daily. We answer security questionnaires on request.

Can I export everything?

Yes. Every list exports to CSV, statements and leases download as PDFs, and you can request a full export at any time, including for 60 days after you cancel.

Do you sell or share tenant data?

No. Tenant data is used to run your account and the services you turn on, like screening and payments, and nothing else.
