Implementations / GoHighLevel to GA4
Send GoHighLevel events into GA4 as key events.
GoHighLevel already runs the funnel, the pipeline, and the calendar for a lot of local business accounts. This workflow reports the stage that actually matters back into GA4, so your wider funnel reporting sees a real customer, not just a form fill.

The workflow
What connects a GoHighLevel event to a GA4 key event.
The field map
We pick one pipeline stage change, or a booked calendar appointment, as the trigger, and decide whether a dollar value should carry into GA4 as an event parameter, based on what that stage actually represents for your business.
The identity match
We capture a GA4 client ID from your landing page at the moment someone enters the funnel and store it as a contact field in GoHighLevel, so a stage change or booking that happens later can still tie back to the original session.
Where the data enters
GoHighLevel's workflow builder includes a documented Custom Webhook action, which fires an outbound request from any workflow using the account's current v2 API and its own authentication options. GoHighLevel retired its older v1 API at the end of 2025, so any build here runs on the current webhook action rather than an older integration pattern. That webhook feeds a middleware step that formats the event for GA4's Measurement Protocol, since GoHighLevel has no packaged GA4 connector of its own.
How failures surface
GA4's DebugView confirms an event the moment it lands during testing. On the GoHighLevel side, a workflow that stops firing the webhook step is the usual sign something shifted in the account, especially on a whitelabeled version resold under an agency's own branding.
What we check before you trust the numbers.
Access we need first
A team member seat inside your GoHighLevel account to build the workflow step, plus edit access to your GA4 property to create the event and mark it as a key event once it is flowing reliably.
What gets delivered
A live GoHighLevel workflow with a Custom Webhook step feeding a middleware build into GA4's Measurement Protocol, plus a written reference matching each stage to its GA4 event name.
The acceptance test
We push one real contact through the trigger stage and confirm the event lands in GA4's DebugView with the correct client ID and value, before marking it a key event for ongoing reporting.
What is out of scope
We do not restructure your GoHighLevel funnels, pipelines, or calendar setup. We build one accurate signal from the stage you choose, nothing about how your funnels are laid out underneath it.
How we build it.
01
Audit
We check your current GoHighLevel workflows, confirm whether your account is a direct login or a whitelabeled version, and agree on which stage best represents a real conversion.
02
Build
We add the Custom Webhook step to the chosen workflow, build the middleware translating its payload into a GA4 Measurement Protocol event, and mark the result as a key event.
03
Verify
A real contact runs through the trigger stage and we confirm the event lands correctly in GA4's DebugView before handing over the written reference and calling the build finished.
GoHighLevel and GA4 key events, answered.
No. Its Custom Webhook workflow action sends the notification, but getting that into GA4 needs a Measurement Protocol call we build in between, since GoHighLevel has no built in GA4 connector.
The underlying webhook action is the same either way, though screen names and menu locations can differ slightly. We work inside your actual account rather than assuming a generic layout.
Key events is GA4's current name for the same idea. An event already flowing into GA4 gets marked as a key event once you trust what it is measuring.
Yes, using separate workflow steps alongside this one. We scope those together if you want more than one destination, since each has its own field map and identity match.
GoHighLevel has already retired one API version, so we treat this as something to recheck, not a one time build. A fresh contact runs through after any change we notice, before your reporting leans on it.
