Implementations / HoneyBook to Google Ads
Send HoneyBook projects to Google Ads.
A photographer or event planner running HoneyBook wants Google Ads to know when an inquiry actually turns into a booked, paid project, not just when someone fills out a contact form. HoneyBook's own supported path gets us there.
- 10% of ad budget, $600 a month minimum
- No contracts, month to month
- Free proposal within one business day
The workflow
What connects a HoneyBook project to a Google Ads conversion.
The field map
We trigger on a project being booked, or on the first payment being received if your business wants a firmer signal than a signed proposal alone, and decide whether the project value should carry over as the conversion amount.
The identity match
A hidden field on your inquiry form saves the gclid to the lead the moment they click through from a Google ad, so a project booked weeks later, common for wedding and event work, can still be matched back to that click.
Where the data enters
HoneyBook does not publish a general REST API for outside developers to build against. What HoneyBook itself documents and supports is a Zapier integration, authenticated with a HoneyBook-issued key, with triggers for a new inquiry, a project booked, and a payment received. That is the real path here, not a workaround we are settling for.
How failures surface
Google Ads shows how many imported conversions it rejected in the import summary of the conversion upload. On the HoneyBook side, a Zap that stops firing usually traces back to the connected account losing its authorization, which we check first in Zapier's own history log.
What we verify before the numbers count.
Access we need first
A HoneyBook account with the integration key generated, a Zapier account connected to it, and admin rights in Google Ads to set up the conversion action. We do not need access to your client contracts or payment details beyond what the trigger requires.
What gets delivered
A working Zap running from your chosen HoneyBook trigger into a Google Ads offline conversion import or enhanced conversions setup, plus a written note on exactly which project stage fires it.
The acceptance test
We move one real test inquiry through the booked or paid stage and confirm it appears in Google Ads' conversion reporting within the platform's normal import window, with the correct value attached.
What is out of scope
We do not manage your HoneyBook templates, proposals, or contract language. We build one accurate signal from the stage you choose, nothing about how you run client communication inside the platform.
How we build it.
01
Audit
We check your current HoneyBook pipeline stages, whether a gclid is captured anywhere on your inquiry form today, and which stage best represents a real booked client for you.
02
Build
We set up the Zap from your chosen trigger, add the gclid capture to your inquiry form, and configure the matching conversion action in Google Ads.
03
Verify
A real test inquiry runs through the chosen stage, and we confirm it lands correctly in Google Ads' reporting before handing over the written reference and calling the build finished.
HoneyBook and Google Ads, answered.
No, and HoneyBook does not offer a general API for outside developers either. Zapier is the path HoneyBook itself documents and supports, so that is what we build on rather than a riskier workaround.
Not particularly. HoneyBook maintains this Zapier integration as its own supported automation path, not as an unofficial workaround, so the reliability is closer to a native connection than a scraped or reverse-engineered one.
Booked is usually the stronger signal, since an inquiry alone tells Google Ads very little about whether the lead was ever a real prospect. We help you pick based on your actual close rate.
We set a rule for that case so a cancelled project does not count, since reporting it as a conversion would tell Google Ads your worst leads are your best ones.
HoneyBook updates its own supported integrations on its own schedule. We recheck the Zap after any change we notice, and confirm the numbers before your reporting leans on them again.

Tell us which HoneyBook stage means a real booked client for your business and whether you already capture a gclid anywhere. A fixed price for the build comes back in a free proposal, within one business day.
