Implementations / Lead Tracking
Connect WhatConverts leads to GA4 and Google Ads.
WhatConverts tracks calls, forms, chats, and texts in one place and lets someone on your team mark each lead as won, lost, or worth a dollar figure. We wire that review back into GA4 and Google Ads so the marketing side sees the same picture your sales team does. The same review step works across every channel it tracks, so a call, a form fill, and a chat message all get judged by the same standard.
- $0 setup. Month to month.
- 30-day guarantee, pay only if satisfied.

The workflow
From a reviewed lead to a valued conversion.
The field map
WhatConverts logs every call, form, chat, and text lead with a source, a keyword, and a spot for your team to add a lead value once it is qualified. We choose which of those fields names the conversion in Google Ads, and which one carries the dollar value forward. A lead that arrives through more than one channel from the same visitor can be linked together rather than counted twice.
The identity match
WhatConverts' own tracking script captures the gclid on landing, the same way it captures the source and keyword, and ties it to whichever lead channel that visitor later uses, whether that is a call, a form, or a chat message. That same script also records the page the visitor landed on first, which helps if they return through a different channel later.
Where the data enters
WhatConverts has its own Google Ads connection for sending qualified leads as offline conversions, plus a GA4 connection for wider reporting. We turn both on and set the rule for when a lead is qualified enough to send. Both connections read from the same lead record, so a value added later updates everywhere at once.
How failures surface
A lead that has not been reviewed and marked in WhatConverts' Manage Leads screen does not get sent anywhere. It sits in the queue. We set a default so unreviewed leads do not quietly disappear from your ads reporting either, sending after a maximum wait with a default value if nobody reviews it in time.
What makes this hold up over time.
Access we need first
Admin access to your WhatConverts account for the integration settings, and access to your Google Ads account, where the conversion action for qualified leads gets built. GA4 access if that is also a destination. We are not asking for your phone system or email inbox, just the WhatConverts account.
What gets delivered
Both integrations turned on and mapped, a written rule for what qualifies a lead to send, and a short guide for whoever reviews leads in WhatConverts so the marketing numbers stay honest month over month. We document the exact qualifying rule so a new hire on your team can learn it quickly.
The acceptance test
We send a real test lead through each channel WhatConverts tracks, mark it qualified with a value, and confirm it lands in Google Ads with that value attached before we call the setup finished. If a channel does not send correctly on the first pass, we keep testing until every channel reports cleanly.
What is out of scope
Deciding what a lead is worth, and how quickly your team reviews new leads in WhatConverts, is a sales process question, not a tracking question. We build the pipe. You decide what runs through it, and we are glad to help you build a scoring rubric as a separate piece of work.
How the setup runs.
01
Audit
We check which lead channels your WhatConverts plan tracks, whether anyone is currently reviewing and valuing leads, and what, if anything, is already connected to Google Ads or GA4.
02
Build
We turn on the Google Ads and GA4 connections inside WhatConverts, map the lead value field, and set the rule for which reviewed leads get sent as conversions.
03
Verify
We push a real test lead through, review and value it the way your team would, and confirm it shows up correctly in Google Ads before we hand the account back.
WhatConverts to GA4 and Google Ads FAQ.
Google Ads only sees what happens on your site or through its own call forwarding number. WhatConverts sits across calls, forms, chats, and texts in one dashboard and lets a person mark which ones were actually good leads before that quality gets sent back to Google Ads.
No. You can send every qualified lead as a flat conversion with no value, or attach a dollar figure once your team scores it. We set this up to match how your sales team already works, not the other way around.
They stay visible inside WhatConverts but are not sent to Google Ads until reviewed, since an unreviewed lead has not been judged good or bad yet. We set a maximum wait so a stale, unreviewed lead does not sit forgotten forever.
It is possible to run both, but usually one lead tracking tool is enough. We will look at what you already have running before recommending you add a second one.
It should not. The review step already exists in WhatConverts if your team uses it. We are wiring what happens after that review to your ad account, not changing how leads get reviewed.
