Family stories
In their words, not ours
4.8 average from 94 family reviews. We show the four-star ones too, along with what we changed.
“We toured five places. This was the only one where staff talked to Mom, not just to me. Eight months later, the same two care partners still look after her most days.”

Assisted living
“I live in Calgary, so the video tour and the weekly email matter a lot. When Dad had a fall, the nurse called me within the hour and explained what happened and what changed.”

Independent living
“We moved before we needed to, and we are glad. No more snow shovelling, a good dinner every night, and Ray finally has a woodshop again.”

Respite stay
“Mom stayed for two weeks while I had knee surgery. I got a call halfway through and a written note at the end. She asked to come back for lunch the next week.”

Memory care
“Moving my wife here was the hardest thing I have done. The staff were patient with both of us. My only wish is more parking on Sundays.”
Michael T. · Husband of a resident · March 2026
Our reply
Thank you, Michael. You were right about Sundays. We added six visitor spaces in the north lot this spring, and family can now reserve one by calling the front desk.

Assisted living
“The price they quoted is the price we pay. When Dad needed more help, they showed us the new care plan and the cost before anything changed.”

Memory care
“Grandpa was a carpenter. Tomás found him sanding blocks for the baking group's cutting boards. It is the happiest I have seen him in two years.”

Assisted living
“The first month was rough, and they warned us it might be. Mom has settled in now and has a seat at the same lunch table every day. Food is good, not fancy.”

How we ask for reviews
We ask every family once, about 60 days after move-in, and again after their first year. We never offer anything in return, and we never remove a review we do not like. If something went wrong, we would rather hear it from you directly. Helen's door is open.
Plan a visit
Ask a current family for yourself.
On your visit, we can introduce you to a family who chose Hazelbrook last year. Ask them anything.
Hospital discharge or a fall this week? Call us. Claire will tell you honestly what we can do and how fast.
