What independent living means here

Our independent living suites are for people who do not need daily care but are ready to stop running a house. You get a full apartment with a kitchen, dinner in the dining room each night, housekeeping, and a busy calendar if you want one.

Help is close by. If needs change later, care can come to your suite, or you can move to assisted living in the same building. Same friends, same dining room, same staff.

This may be right when

  • Your parent is well but lonely, or the house has become too much
  • Driving has stopped and the days feel long
  • A couple wants to stay together, with care available for one of them later
  • You want to plan a move now, before a crisis decides for you

Questions families ask

About independent living

Can couples live together if only one needs care?

Yes. Couples can share an independent living or assisted living suite, and care is added for the person who needs it. If one partner later needs memory care, The Orchard is in the same building.

Can we bring a car or a pet?

Yes to both. Outdoor parking is $45 a month. Cats and small dogs are welcome in independent and assisted living after a short chat with our family advisor.
