What respite stays means here

Caring for a parent at home is a full-time job. A respite stay gives you a real break. Your parent stays in a furnished suite with the same care, meals and activities as our residents. You get to sleep, travel, or recover from surgery of your own.

Respite is also an honest way to try us. Many families book a two-week stay before deciding on a move. Some never move in, and that is fine too.

This may be right when

  • You care for a parent at home and need a break
  • You are travelling or have surgery coming up
  • Your parent is home from hospital and needs extra help for a few weeks
  • You want to see how your parent feels here before deciding on a move

Questions families ask

About respite stays

How far ahead should we book?

Two to four weeks ahead is best, especially in summer and over the holidays. For an urgent need, call us. We will tell you honestly if we have a suite.

What do we need to bring?

Clothes for the stay, toiletries, current medications in their original packaging, and a few things that feel like home. A photo or a favourite blanket helps more than you would think.
