New patients are always welcome: puppies, seniors switching clinics, and the cat who hasn't seen a vet since 2023 (no lectures, promise). Here's exactly what happens.
Your first visit, step by step

Book + tell us about your pet
Book online or call. We'll email a short intake form about your pet's history, diet, quirks, and anything they're nervous about. Five minutes on your couch saves ten in the exam room.

We fetch the records
Give us your previous clinic's name and we'll request the full file before you arrive: vaccines, bloodwork, the lot. You don't have to chase paperwork.

Arrive ten minutes early
Time for a weigh-in, a treat, and a sniff around. Anxious pets can wait in the car. Text us from the lot and we'll room you the moment a door opens.

The exam: a full thirty minutes
Nose-to-tail exam, your questions answered without watching the clock, and a plan written down. Nothing happens to your pet before the price does.

Leave with a plan, not a mystery
You'll walk out with a written visit summary: what we found, what we recommend and why, what it costs, and what can safely wait.
The checklist
What to bring (and what not to worry about).
- Any previous records, if you have them (we can request these for you)
- The food they eat (a photo of the bag label is perfect)
- A list of medications and supplements, with doses
- A fresh stool sample if we've asked for one (bagged, recent)
- Dogs on a leash; cats and small mammals in a secure carrier
- Their favourite treats, because familiar bribes work best
About the forms: we email intake forms when you book, and they take about five minutes. Can't get to them? Arrive fifteen minutes early instead and Rosa will walk you through a paper copy with coffee.
For the nervous ones: canine, feline, or human.
Anxious dogs Tell us when you book. We'll schedule around busy lobby times, use the side entrance if that helps, and can prescribe pre-visit medication that genuinely takes the edge off.
Cats A cat-only exam room, no dog traffic, a warm towel over the carrier, and a vet (Dr. Raman) who will happily let your cat make the first move.
Worried owners Ask anything. Ask it twice. The only bad question is the one you sat on for three weeks while the lump got bigger. Call us at (613) 555-0142 instead.
