Dental care

Most pets over three have some dental disease, and most of it hides below the gumline. We assess the mouth while your pet is awake, then clean and X-ray under anaesthesia with a technician monitoring the whole time. Every extraction is quoted before we go ahead, so there are no surprise invoices at pickup.

How it works

What happens, step by step.

  1. The assessment

We look, grade the mouth, and show you what we see. Then you get a written range for the cleaning.

  2. Drop-off morning

No breakfast that day. A pre-anaesthetic check, and your pet settles into a quiet kennel with a blanket.

  3. Cleaning day

X-rays of every tooth, a full cleaning, and a technician watching vital signs the whole time. If a tooth needs to come out, we phone you first.

  4. Home the same day

Pickup in the afternoon with written home care. We call the next morning to see how they're eating.

Who you'll see

Led by one vet.

"They called mid-cleaning to say one tooth needed to come out and gave me the exact price before doing it. The final bill matched the estimate to the dollar."

Questions we hear

Fair questions, plain answers.

Why does my pet need anaesthesia for a cleaning?

Most dental disease is under the gumline, where you can't clean or X-ray an awake pet safely. Anaesthesia lets us check every tooth properly and keeps your pet still and pain-free. We'll walk you through the risks for your pet before you decide.

How can I tell if my pet has dental disease?

Bad breath, red or bleeding gums, brown buildup, chewing on one side, or dropping food are common signs. Many pets show none of these and still have painful teeth, which is why we check at every exam.

Can I brush my pet's teeth at home?

Yes, and it helps a lot. Use pet toothpaste (never human), start slowly, and aim for most days. We're happy to show you how at any visit.
