How it works
What happens, step by step.
-
Pre-surgery exam
We check your pet, answer your questions, and give you a written estimate. Bloodwork if your pet's age or health calls for it.
-
Drop-off morning
No breakfast. A quick re-check, then IV access and pre-medication so your pet goes to sleep calmly.
-
Surgery and wake-up
A technician monitors breathing, heart rate, blood pressure, and temperature from start to finish. We call when your pet is awake.
-
Home and recheck
Pickup with written home care and pain medication. A free recheck 10 to 14 days later.
Who you'll see
Led by one vet.
"I got a photo of Olive waking up, wrapped in a blanket, about ten minutes after her spay. Small thing, but it made the whole day easier."
Questions we hear
Fair questions, plain answers.
Is anaesthesia safe for my pet?
For healthy pets the risk is low, but it is never zero, and we won't pretend otherwise. We lower it with a pre-op exam, a drug plan made for your pet, IV fluids, and a technician watching every minute. If your pet has higher risk factors, we talk them through with you before you decide.
When should I spay or neuter?
It depends on species, breed, size, and your household. Many cats and small dogs are done around six months; large breeds often do better waiting longer. We'll go over the trade-offs for your pet at the final puppy or kitten visit.
How long is recovery?
Most pets are home the same day and back to normal in 10 to 14 days. They'll need a cone or recovery suit, short leash walks, and no baths or jumping until the recheck.
