Implementations / Klaviyo to Customer Match

Sync Klaviyo segments to Google Ads Customer Match.

Klaviyo already knows who your past customers, VIP buyers, and lapsed subscribers are. Its own Google Ads app turns any of those segments into a live Customer Match audience, kept in sync without a manual export.

The workflow

What connects a Klaviyo segment to a Google Ads audience.

The field map

We pick which Klaviyo list or segment is worth its own audience, for example customers over a spend threshold to exclude from prospecting, or lapsed buyers to retarget, since Customer Match works best against a deliberate group rather than your entire list.

The identity match

Klaviyo's Google Ads app handles the hashing and formatting Customer Match requires as part of the sync itself, so this is not a manual step we build separately the way it would be without a native connector.

Where the data enters

Klaviyo documents this as a native app inside its own Integrations tab: you authenticate the connection, choose a list or segment, and map it to a Google Ads audience directly from Klaviyo's interface. Once mapped, membership keeps syncing on an ongoing basis, though Klaviyo's own documentation notes the first population of a new audience can take up to about two days.

How failures surface

Google Ads shows an audience's size and match rate once the sync begins populating it. A segment that never appears usually traces back to the Google Ads account not being a direct admin on the connection, which Klaviyo's documentation flags as a requirement, not an option.

Before the numbers are trusted: our checks.

Access we need first

Admin access to your Klaviyo account to install the Google Ads app, and direct admin access on the Google Ads account itself, since Klaviyo's documentation states manager or MCC level access is not supported for this connection.

What gets delivered

A live Klaviyo Google Ads app connection syncing your chosen segment into a Customer Match audience, plus a written note on which segment feeds which audience and the account access it depends on.

The acceptance test

We confirm the mapped audience appears inside Google Ads with a sensible member count and match rate, understanding that a brand new audience can take up to about two days to fully populate before we call the sync verified.

What is out of scope

We do not build your Klaviyo flows or segment logic as part of this setup. We connect a segment you already have, or help you define one, to a Google Ads audience, nothing about your wider email strategy.

How we build it.

01

Audit

We check your existing Klaviyo segments, confirm your Google Ads account has the direct admin access this connection requires, and agree on which segment deserves its own audience.

02

Build

We install Klaviyo's Google Ads app, authenticate the connection, and map the chosen segment to a new or existing Customer Match audience.

03

Verify

We confirm the audience begins populating inside Google Ads, allow for the initial sync window Klaviyo describes, and check the resulting match rate before calling the build finished.
