Implementations / Square Appointments to Google Ads
Send Square Appointments bookings to Google Ads.
A lot of small service businesses run Square Appointments as their whole booking system. This workflow connects a real booking back to the ad click that produced it, so Google Ads learns from a filled slot, not just a page visit.
- 10% of ad budget, $600 a month minimum
- No contracts, month to month
- 30 day guarantee on the first month
The workflow
What connects a Square booking to a Google Ads conversion.
The field map
We trigger on a booking being created, or on an appointment marked completed if your business cares more about a client showing up than merely reserving a slot, and decide whether the service price should carry over as the conversion value.
The identity match
A hidden field on your booking page saves the gclid to the client's Square profile the moment they click through from a Google ad, before the booking itself happens, so the eventual appointment can still be matched back to that click.
Where the data enters
Square publishes a documented Bookings API with webhooks that fire when an appointment is created or updated, scoped through OAuth permissions and delivered to an endpoint we run over HTTPS. Square is also listed natively inside Zapier with a new appointment trigger, which is the faster path for a business that would rather not maintain custom code.
How failures surface
Google Ads reports an upload's success or rejection rate inside its own conversion import summary. A booking that never appears there usually traces back to a missing gclid on the original click, which we check first before assuming the webhook itself failed.
How we prove the numbers before you rely on them.
Access we need first
OAuth access to your Square account scoped to appointments, plus admin rights in Google Ads to set up the conversion action. If we build through Zapier instead, we need an account there with appropriate access.
What gets delivered
A working webhook or Zapier connection from Square Appointments into a Google Ads offline conversion import or enhanced conversions setup, plus a written note on exactly which booking action triggers it.
The acceptance test
We book one real test appointment through a tracked click and confirm it appears in Google Ads' conversion reporting within the platform's normal import window, with the correct value attached.
What is out of scope
We do not manage your Square catalog, staff calendars, or service pricing structure. We build one accurate signal from the booking action you choose, nothing about how your business actually runs Square day to day.
How we build it.
01
Audit
We check your current Square Appointments setup, whether a gclid is captured anywhere on your booking flow today, and which action best represents a real booked client for you.
02
Build
We set up the Square webhook or the Zapier connection, add the gclid capture to your booking page, and configure the matching conversion action in Google Ads.
03
Verify
A real test booking runs through a tracked click, and we confirm it lands correctly in Google Ads' reporting before handing over the written reference and calling the build finished.
Square Appointments and Google Ads, answered.
No. Square has no packaged Google Ads connector. Its own Bookings API webhook, or its native Zapier listing, is what we use to build the connection, since neither platform does it out of the box.
Either works. Square's webhook is genuinely documented, so a direct build is possible, or Zapier if you would rather manage the connection yourself without maintaining custom code later.
We set a rule so a cancelled appointment does not count, since reporting a cancellation as a conversion would quietly tell Google Ads your worst clicks are your best ones.
Yes, though we scope the webhook or Zapier connection per location if you run more than one, since booking pages and staff schedules often differ location to location.
Square updates its developer platform on its own schedule. We re-test with a real booking after any change we notice, and confirm the numbers before your reporting leans on them again.
