Zocdoc to Google Ads
Zocdoc bookings and what Google Ads can actually see.
A patient can find and book you inside Zocdoc's own marketplace without ever clicking your Google ad. We will tell you plainly what that means for your numbers before we build anything.
- 10% of ad budget, $600 a month minimum
- No contracts, month to month

The workflow
What we can and cannot connect to Google Ads.
The limit, stated plainly
Zocdoc runs its own booking flow inside its own marketplace, and it typically does not pass the click identifier from your Google ad back to your practice's own systems. Many practices find they cannot cleanly attribute a Zocdoc marketplace booking to a specific ad click, no matter how the integration is set up.
What we can actually track
A visitor who clicks your Google ad and books an appointment on your own website, through your own contact or booking form, can be tracked the normal way, with the click identifier or enhanced conversions for leads as the identity match. This is often a meaningful share of new patients, even for a practice that also lists on Zocdoc.
Where the data enters
For bookings on your own site, we connect the form or booking tool's data into Google Ads' offline conversion import, the same way we would for any practice website. Zocdoc's own marketplace bookings stay inside Zocdoc's own reporting, separate from this.
The compliance layer
Healthcare advertising sits under Google's Healthcare and medicines policy. We keep any conversion data we do send limited to a booking happened, never a diagnosis, treatment type, or insurance detail, regardless of how the practice's own intake form is worded.
What we check before a practice spends on this.
We say no before we take your money
If most of your new patients book through Zocdoc's marketplace directly, connecting Zocdoc bookings to Google Ads offline conversions will not give you a clean number. We will tell you that honestly instead of building something that looks connected but is not.
Your own site tracked properly instead
If your Google ad sends traffic to your own site with its own booking form, that path can be tracked cleanly. We often recommend focusing measurement there rather than chasing Zocdoc's closed marketplace, and pointing more of your ad budget at your own booking page where that makes sense for the practice.
First visit attended, not just requested
Where a booking does happen on your own site, we trigger on the patient attending the first appointment, not the request, since a booked slot that no shows tells you nothing useful about whether the ad actually worked.
Re-tested as platforms change
Both Zocdoc and Google Ads change what they expose over time. If a future update opens up a cleaner way to connect Zocdoc data, we will revisit this and tell you plainly.
How we approach it.
01
Map where your patients actually book
We look at how many new patients come through Zocdoc's marketplace versus your own website, so we know honestly what is even possible to track before we scope anything.
02
Build what can be built
For bookings on your own site, we wire the identity match, set up Google Ads, and test with real appointments. For Zocdoc marketplace bookings, we explain what Zocdoc's own reporting can tell you instead.
03
Hand off a plain record
You get a short written record of exactly what is tracked, what is not, and why, so your practice understands its real numbers instead of a number that looks complete but is not.
Zocdoc and Google Ads conversions, answered.
Usually not cleanly. Zocdoc's marketplace booking flow does not typically pass the click identifier from your Google ad back to your practice, so a direct link between the two is often not possible, no matter which connector or plan you are on.
No. We use it to show you exactly what can be tracked, bookings made on your own website, and steer your reporting there instead of chasing a number Zocdoc's platform will not give you, and instead of billing you for a connection that would not actually work.
The normal path: the click identifier where it is fresh, or a hashed email or phone number through Google's enhanced conversions for leads feature, tied to the first appointment attended.
Google's Healthcare and medicines policy applies to healthcare ads generally. Any conversion data we send stays limited to a booking happened, never a diagnosis or treatment detail.
Yes. If Zocdoc or Google Ads changes what data is available, we revisit this honestly rather than quietly leaving an outdated setup in place, and we will say so plainly either way.
