Paying for your project.

We are a builder, not a lender. Here is how most of our clients pay, how our payment schedule works, and a simple estimator to sanity-check a monthly number before you talk to your bank.

Four common routes

We don't earn a referral fee from any lender. If you want an introduction to a local bank or credit union our clients have used, ask during the site visit.

Simple amortized-loan math for illustration. It is not an offer of credit, and Hatchwork Build Co. does not arrange loans. Rates, fees, and approval come from your lender.

You never pay far ahead of the work

A typical schedule for a project over $25,000. Smaller jobs use a deposit and a final payment. The last payment waits until your punch list is closed.

Tell us your real budget

It feels like a negotiating risk. It isn't. A real number lets us design to it: which finishes, which walls move, which parts wait for phase two. Without it, we design blind and you pay for redesign.

If the budget and the wish list don't match, we tell you at the site visit, before you spend anything on design.

Get a number to take to your lender.

The free site visit ends with a written ballpark range. It is the number most banks ask for when you apply for a home equity line or renovation loan.
