Sorrel Integrative medicine

How it works

From first call to a plan you can keep

Seven steps over about six months. Here is what happens at each one, how long it takes and what you'll need.

6 months, then you decide

The steps, in order

  1. Day 1

    A free discovery call

Twenty minutes by phone or video with a clinician. You tell us what's going on, we explain how we work and what it costs, and we both decide if Sorrel is a good fit.

    • No cost, no commitment
    • Honest referral if another kind of care fits better
  2. Before your first visit

    Your health story, written down

An online intake covering symptoms, history, sleep, food, stress and goals. Plan on about 45 minutes. Jo requests your records and recent labs so you don't have to.

    • Save and come back any time
    • We read it all before you arrive
  3. Week 1 to 3

    A 75-minute first visit

In person in Chattanooga, or by video if you live elsewhere in Tennessee or Georgia. A long conversation, an exam when you're here, and a lab order where every test has a reason.

    • Bring your medicines and supplements
    • Questions are the point, so bring a list
A clinician and a patient talk across a white desk in a bright room with tall windows
  4. Week 2 to 4

    Labs, drawn close to home

Blood draws in our clinic on weekday mornings or at a partner draw station. Take-home kits come with plain instructions. You see every price before anything is ordered.

    • Standard labs can often use insurance
    • Specialty tests only when they change the plan
  5. About 2 weeks after labs

Lab review and your care plan

A 45-minute visit to go through every result, in plain words, and agree on a plan. You leave with a one-page summary, and we send a copy to your primary care doctor.

    • What we found, what it means, what's next
    • Two or three changes to start, not twenty
A smiling clinician reviews results on a tablet with a patient at a table
  6. Weeks 4 to 12

Practice with the dietitian and coach

Sessions with Hannah and Marcus turn the plan into meals, walks and bedtimes. Short check-ins by message keep things moving between visits.

    • Recipes, grocery lists, sleep plans
    • Adjusted when life happens
Someone fills in a weekly nutrition plan beside bowls of salad, berries and fruit
  7. Months 2 to 6

    Follow-ups, rechecks and a decision

Follow-up visits to adjust the plan, retest only what matters, and at six months decide together: continue, step down to continuing care, or graduate back to your primary care doctor with a clear plan.

    • Graduating is a good outcome
    • No auto-renewal surprises

Before your first visit

What to bring

  • A list of your medicines and supplements, with doses (or the bottles)
  • Any labs or imaging from the last 12 months that we don't already have
  • Your top three questions, written down
  • A partner or friend, if you'd like a second set of ears

What we'll ask about

The intake covers more than symptoms. None of it is a test, and "I don't know" is a fine answer.

  • Sleep
  • Digestion
  • Energy
  • Stress
  • Food
  • Movement
  • Medicines
  • Cycles and hormones
  • Family history
  • Work and routine
  • Goals

Plan on about 45 minutes for the online intake. You can save it and come back.

After six months

Three good ways to finish

At your six-month visit we decide together. Nothing renews without a conversation.

Questions

About visits

All questions
Are visits in person or by video?

Both. We recommend the first visit in person in Chattanooga. Follow-ups can be by video if you live in Tennessee or Georgia, where our clinicians are licensed.

How soon can I be seen?

The discovery call is usually within a week. First visits are usually two to three weeks after that.

What if I need care urgently?

Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We are not an urgent care clinic. For same-day sick visits, your primary care doctor or an urgent care is the right place.

What happens after six months?

We decide together. Some people continue, some step down to continuing care at $95 a month, and many graduate back to their primary care doctor with a clear written plan. All three are good outcomes.

Next step

Step one is a free call

Talk with a clinician about what's going on, how we work and what it costs. If another kind of care would suit you better, we'll tell you.
