Many standard tests (blood count, metabolic panel, lipids, A1c, TSH) can be billed to your insurance instead through our lab partner. We check before ordering, and you always see the self-pay price first.
Tests we usually skip, and why
- IgG food sensitivity panels IgG often reflects foods you eat a lot, not foods that harm you. Results tend to lead to needless restriction.
- Hair mineral analysis Results vary between labs and don't match blood levels well enough to guide treatment.
- Provoked urine 'heavy metal' tests Taking a chelating drug first makes almost anyone's result look high.
- Saliva 'adrenal fatigue' panels Adrenal fatigue isn't a recognized diagnosis. If cortisol needs checking, we use validated blood or urine tests.
Insurance
How insurance works with us
Short version: we're out of network, we give you paperwork to claim with, and we're honest that results vary by plan.
-
We are out of network
We don't bill insurance directly for visits or membership. That is what lets us book 75-minute visits and publish one price for everyone.
-
Superbills for visits
A superbill is an itemized receipt with the codes your insurer needs. Many PPO plans pay back part of out-of-network visits. HMO plans usually don't. We can't promise what your plan pays.
-
Standard labs can use insurance
Routine tests we order can usually be billed to your plan through our lab partner. Specialty tests are self-pay, and you see the price before we order.
-
HSA and FSA cards
Accepted for visits and labs. Ask your plan administrator whether the monthly membership fee counts as an eligible expense.
-
Medicare
Talk to us before joining. Medicare has special rules for out-of-network clinicians, and we'll explain your options on the discovery call.
-
Prescriptions
Medicines go to the pharmacy you choose and use your normal drug coverage.
How a superbill works
- 1 We give you a superbill After each visit, an itemized receipt with diagnosis and visit codes arrives in your portal.
- 2 You send it to your insurer Most insurers take it by upload or mail. Jo can walk you through it the first time.
- 3 Your plan decides PPO plans often pay back part of out-of-network visits. HMO plans usually don't. We can't promise what yours will pay.
The fine print
In normal-sized type
- No sign-up or enrollment fee.
- Membership is billed monthly on the date you join.
- The first six months is a commitment. If you move out of Tennessee and Georgia or have a medical reason, we end it early with no fee.
- After six months: month to month, cancel with 30 days' notice.
- A visit missed without 24 hours' notice counts as used. We let the first one go.
- Prices are reviewed once a year. You get 60 days' notice of any change.
Cost questions
How much does it cost?
The discovery call is free. Core membership is $175 a month and Complete is $265 a month for the first six months. After that, continuing care is $95 a month if you want it. Labs are extra and priced before we order them.
Do you take insurance?
We are out of network with all insurance plans. We give you a superbill for visits that you can send to your insurer. Many PPO plans pay back part of it, HMO plans usually don't, and we can't promise what yours will do. Standard labs can often be billed to insurance.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?
Yes, for visits and labs. Ask your plan administrator whether the monthly membership fee counts as an eligible expense.
I have Medicare. Can I join?
Please talk to us first. Medicare has special rules for out-of-network clinicians, and we'll explain your options on the discovery call.
Can I cancel?
The first six months is a commitment because that's how long a real plan takes. If you move out of state or have a medical reason, we end it early with no fee. After six months, cancel any time with 30 days' notice.
