GA4 Lead Gen Tracking
GA4 lead tracking, built for service businesses.
We set up GA4 to recognize a form fill, a phone click, or a booking as a real result, not just another page view, and mark it as a key event.
- Free proposal, delivered within one business day
- Built around how leads actually reach you
- Still backed by the 30 day guarantee
What we set up
The pieces that make a lead visible in GA4.
Lead event mapping
We identify every way a lead can reach you, a contact form, a phone number click, a chat widget, a booking calendar, and set up an event for each.
Key event marking
We mark the events that represent a real lead as key events inside your GA4 property, the setting GA4 uses in place of the old term conversions.
Cross domain tracking
We connect tracking across domains where your form or booking tool lives on a different address than your main site, so a lead is not counted as two separate visitors.
Attribution check
We confirm which channel gets credit for a lead using GA4's default attribution settings, and adjust the lookback window if your sales cycle runs longer than the default.
What we need to start, and how every lead gets proven.
Access we need
Admin access to your GA4 property, edit access to your site or Google Tag Manager, and a working phone number or form to test against.
What is delivered
A GA4 property with each lead type set up as its own event, the right ones marked as key events, and a short guide to reading the reports.
The acceptance test
We generate one of each lead type, a form fill, a phone click, a booking, and confirm every one shows up correctly in GA4 real time reporting and the key events report the next day.
Out of scope
We do not set up Google Ads conversion actions as part of this project, though we can scope that work alongside it if your leads come through paid traffic.
How the setup runs.
01
List every lead path
We find every way a visitor can become a lead on your site, forms, phone links, chat, booking widgets, and anything else.
02
Build the events
We set up tracking for each lead path and mark the right ones as key events in GA4.
03
Test every path
We trigger each lead type ourselves and confirm it appears correctly in reporting before handing off.
GA4 lead tracking, answered.
Key events are GA4's term for the results that matter to your business, replacing the older word conversions. Marking an event as a key event just changes how it is highlighted in reporting, it does not change how the data is collected.
Yes, if your phone number on the site is a clickable tel link. We set up an event that fires when a visitor taps or clicks that number, which is especially useful on mobile.
Many booking widgets load in an iframe from a different domain, which can complicate tracking. We check whether the widget offers its own tracking hooks or whether we need to track the click that opens it instead.
GA4 uses a lookback window measured in days, not months, for most channels by default. If your buying cycle runs longer than that default window, we can extend it so a lead from months ago still gets credited correctly.
No. GA4 lead tracking tells you what happened on your site across every channel. Google Ads conversion tracking is specific to your ad account and is what the bidding system actually uses to optimize.
