Our team
Names, not a call center
Beacon is about 22 people: 4 employee crews, three leads who run the work, and an office of three. You'll meet most of them by name, and none of them work for a labor broker.
Who runs the work
The three people behind every quote and warranty
-
Owner and founder
Dale Whitcomb
With Beacon since 2004
Started Beacon with one truck and a used sheet-metal brake after 12 years on other people's crews. He still walks every steep-slope job before it starts, and still takes warranty calls on Saturdays.
“If our name is on the roof, I want to be able to drive past it for the next 15 years.”
-
Lead estimator
Glen Ostrowski
With Beacon since 2011
Has measured more than 4,000 valley roofs. He writes every quote line by line and walks you through each line at your kitchen table, in about 20 minutes.
“A quote you don't understand isn't a quote. It's just a number.”
-
Repair and warranty lead
Theo Banks
With Beacon since 2015
Runs the repair crew and every warranty visit. He starts in the attic with a flashlight and a moisture meter, because that's where leaks tell the truth.
“The stain on your ceiling is almost never under the hole.”
The four crews
Each one has a lead, a specialty and an apprentice
A crew is a lead, two or three installers and an apprentice. The same crew stays on your job from tear-off to the final magnet sweep.
-
Crew 01
Steep-slope crew
Lead: Ana Ferreira
Started as an apprentice in 2012
Steep and very steep roofs in Cassel Heights and the character districts. Fully roped, every day.
-
Crew 02
Replacement crew
Lead: Jordan Pike
With Beacon since 2014
Asphalt replacements across the valley, two or three roofs a week in season.
-
Crew 03
Metal and cedar crew
Lead: Wes Lindqvist
With Beacon since 2009
Standing-seam and cedar. Runs the roll-former and the shop brake; winter is fabrication season.
-
Crew 04
Exteriors crew
Lead: Rosa Delgado
Started as an apprentice in 2016
Siding, gutters and fascia. The crew we send when a 'roof leak' turns out to be a wall.
The office
The voices on the phone
-
Nina Albright Customer coordinator
Answers the phone, books measures and calls you back within two business hours.
-
Pete Hollis Production scheduler
Builds the crew board around weather, materials and your calendar.
-
Carmen Wu Office and insurance paperwork
Handles permits, lien waivers, warranty registration and adjuster files.
Call (555) 014-8830, Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Why people stay
Two of our four crew leads started as apprentices
-
Year-round work
Winters are metal fabrication, repairs and paid training, not a layoff letter.
-
Employees, not 1099 games
W-2, workers' comp, a health plan after 90 days, and matched retirement at year one.
-
Safety that's actually enforced
Harnesses on at 6 feet, no exceptions, including the owner. Our insurance carrier audits us; we pass.
Free estimate
Glen measures. A crew you've met builds it.
Book the free measure and you'll know the name of every person who'll set foot on your roof before the first shingle comes off.
