Owners, in their own words

Some of these stories end with a yes. One starts with “not yet.” All of them are about people who got a straight answer and a plan, which is the whole point of banking somewhere you own.

A walk-in cooler that couldn't wait for August

Marisol and Dev, deli owners · Roslindale Square

Their walk-in cooler gave out the week before a heat wave. The bank they'd used for years asked for three years of statements and a six-week review.

Kevin at the Waltham desk looked at two years of tax returns, asked about their catering season, and walked them through a $40,000 line of credit. They drew $18,000 for the cooler and paid most of it back by the end of the year.

The advisor who said “wait six months”

Jordan, ER nurse · Quincy

Jordan came in ready to make offers. The pre-approval chat showed that paying down one credit card first would lower the payment more than any rate shopping could.

Six months later, with the card at zero and the first-time buyer program trimming closing costs, Jordan closed on a two-bedroom condo. Same advisor at the start, at closing, and on the phone a year later.

TrustLine Card

Paying off $9,000 without a single trick

Renée, school administrator · Dorchester

Renée had $9,000 spread across two store cards near 26% APR. She moved both balances to TrustLine during the free transfer window and set up a fixed payoff plan.

Same monthly amount she was already paying, a much lower rate, and a payoff date she could see. The last payment cleared in 26 months.
